Wildlife & Ranch Retreat
Borden County Ranch
The Borden
County Ranch is a 16,000 acre ranch located approximately 45 minutes
north of Big Spring in southeastern Borden county along the Colorado
River above Lake Thomas. FM 1205 crosses the Ranch and bridges the
Colorado River at the center. FM1205 also connects the Ranch to
highways leading to Big Spring, Snyder & Lamesa, TX.
Currently, we do not offer lodging at the Borden county location,
however, there are several motels within 10-20 miles of the Ranch.
In
addition to Whitetail and wild quail, the Borden County Ranch has
feral hogs, dove, duck on ponds, wild turkey,
predators (coyote, bobcat, mountain lion) and varmints
(rabbit, raccoon, rattlesnake).
There are
low hills and ridges which overlook many draws, valleys and the Colorado
River. Additionally, there is low brush and good cover for deer
and birds, sunflower and broomweed - good edge for quail.
